PIECES TO SCREEN AT WA MENTAL HEALTH WEEK OPENING

The Mental Health Commission and the Western Australian Association for Mental Health present the premiere of PIECES in association with Third Storey Pictures to launch Mental Health Week in 2022.

The event will be officially opened by Minister for Mental Health The Hon. Amber-Jade Sanderson, with a Q & A after the film with director Martin Wilson and some of the cast and crew on stage.

By launching the film in Mental Health Week, Martin hopes to demystify mental illness, and start conversations that debunks misconceptions and stereotypes that can amplify the stigma, discrimination and isolation experienced by people living with a mental illness diagnosis.

PIECES TO WORLD PREMIERE AT CINEFESTOZ 23 - 28 AUG 20220

An Art Teacher and her recovery class are commissioned to make the backdrop for a professional dance performance. As a documentary film crew record the process they uncover the incredible personal stories of the students and their challenges with mental illness.
